Anyway, avatar is another name of personal icon. I meet "avatar" word in forums, for the first time. Avatar is a graphical presentation of the user's alter ego or character in internet forums, online games, and more. Avatar has several names which are personal icon, gravatar, display picture, your pic, graphic photo, and graphic icon.
